A Cosmic Reset – Solar Eclipse: April 19/20

The eclipse season begins on April 19/20 (depending on location) with a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries, marking the first of two consecutive eclipses.

The second eclipse will occur on May 5 or 6, 2023, with a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio.

Eclipse seasons typically last around six months, and as we are now beginning a new one, that continues until October 29, 2023, the previous six-month season is coming to an end.

The final eclipse of the previous season occurred on November 7-8th, 2022, and many of the experiences, challenges, and themes that have occurred since then are rapidly approaching conclusion.

Eclipses are renowned for triggering the beginning and end of significant life chapters, often without any prior warning. Typically, each season is centered around a specific theme, usually connected to emotions and relationships, and may involve the abrupt removal (or eclipse) of circumstances or individuals that have been detrimental to our lives.

During the past six months, many of us may have had a sense that certain things were unfolding in the background of our lives, without any clear indication of what was happening. However, with the upcoming eclipse, everything is about to be illuminated, revealing people’s true nature and intentions. These revelations may come as a surprise and may even feel unsettling, but they provide an opportunity for us to gain clarity and understanding about our relationships and situations.

As the eclipse approaches, it’s important to reflect on the relationships and situations in our lives and take any necessary steps to distance ourselves, set boundaries, or eliminate individuals who no longer serve our highest good. If we haven’t taken these steps beforehand, the energy of the eclipse may create a sudden shift that is out of our control. In such cases, it’s important to have faith that any changes occurring are for our greater good and trust that the Universe is guiding us towards healthier and more aligned places and dynamics.

Eclipse energy is similar to that of the Full Moon, but it is far more intense and disruptive, which could cause us to feel impatient and frustrated, and become embroiled in pointless arguments or futile fall-outs. Additionally, we may sense heightened volatility in our own energy and that of those around us, as though everyone is more irritable, wired, emotional, anxious, fatigued, angry, or stressed than usual.

This energy can also manifest in the polar opposite manner, with us vibrating at a higher frequency, brimming with optimism, excitement, positivity, and love, and prepared for new beginnings to unfold.

The impact of eclipses varies from person to person, depending on their birth charts. Those with an Aries Sun, Moon, or Rising sign, as well as individuals born during an eclipse, will likely feel its effects the most.

During the eclipse, we may become acutely aware of our surroundings, with heightened senses emotions that make everything feel and sound more intense, vivid, and amplified than before. The energy radiating from eclipses can be overwhelming and disorienting, making them catalysts for profound and unexpected change.

Eclipses are the “wild cards” of the cosmos, as they often catch us off guard with rapid and dramatic shifts. Their effects are powerful, generating massive surges of emotional energy that increase our intuition and drive us to scrutinize our core beliefs, thoughts, and emotions, which can ultimately make or break unaligned relationships.

Eclipses are cosmic, super-powered nudges from the Universe that rattle us and compel us to take action, forcing us to become more aware of what is occurring around us. They are notorious for being a pivotal turning point, as they reset our lives, especially in areas where we have avoided change and remained in toxic, unfulfilling, and harmful situations.

Around the time of an eclipse, we are often forced to confront the issues we have been avoiding and to face uncomfortable truths. While this process can be unsettling and destabilizing, it is essential for our growth and evolution. The energy of eclipses tends to intensify our emotions and make us more sensitive to the world around us. As the previous eclipse season comes to a close, we may feel as though everything is reaching a culmination point, with unexpected endings and beginnings, and sense our lives are taking a sudden and dramatic turn.

Although eclipse seasons may be tumultuous, particularly as they start and end, they always prove to be beneficial in the long run, as a higher energetic force is guiding and supporting us through any challenges we face. These periods are important for teaching and healing, and although transformation may involve uprooting certain aspects of our lives, it always serves our highest good. Therefore, trusting the process is essential.

Eclipse cycles are likely to prompt us to break away from old and harmful patterns of behavior and develop healthier communication styles that enable us to form deeper connections and bonds with those around us.

An eclipse is the Universe’s way of using cosmic powers to pause us and prompt us to set intentions that align with our deepest dreams and desires.

During the eclipse, it is worth taking a few moments to close our eyes and synchronize our energy with the shadowing of the Earth, while focusing on the direction we want our lives to take and what we wish to manifest.

Eclipses bring about a momentary pause in the universal energy between the Sun, Moon, and Earth, resulting in a sudden stop to the energy flow in our lives. This temporary halt provides us with an opportunity to gain profound clarity about our circumstances and surroundings before hitting reset on all that has previously occurred.

During highly charged energy portals, such as eclipses, we may notice the following:

  • Feeling more emotional and tearful
  • People from our past reappear, providing a chance to learn valuable lessons, make amends, forgive and release
  • Physiological symptoms may manifest, such as flu-like symptoms, ear ringing, or aches and pains
  • Frequent anxiety or feeling panicky without clear reason, as well as bouts of fear about the future
  • Knowing things without logical explanation and finding it difficult to explain the source of our information
  • Temporary loss of memories, forgetting things, misplacing items
  • Time appearing to go extremely slow or fast
  • Becoming more accountable for our behaviour and actions
  • Disrupted sleep, insomnia, waking between the hours of 2:00 to 5:00 a.m.
  • Premonitions, and vivid dreams or nightmares
  • Seeing and feeling energy such as orbs, sparks, or flashes of light, and noticing energy warming the palms of hands
  • Seemingly “out the blue” bouts of anxiety, stress, irritability, frustration, sadness, nervousness, worry, fear, grief, overwhelm, and sudden mood swings
  • Sensitive to light, tastes, touch, and noise—particularly tones of voices
  • Feeling as though something huge is about to happen
  • Awakening to past mistakes and no longer repeating them
  • Chronic fatigue; being around other people feels draining
  • Feeling zoned and spaced out, or ungrounded
  • Appreciating that all life is sacred
  • High intuition, sudden insights, heightened awareness, enhanced compassion and empathy, seeing things with clarity, and receiving answers or resolutions to ongoing issues
  • Releasing, healing, letting go of the past
  • Overthinking and obsessing over tiny details
  • Noticing synchronicities, i.e. number patterns reappearing
  • Consciously aware of other people’s energy fields and being highly sensitive to negativity
  • Becoming aware of certain things we have been conditioned to believe
  • A growing discomfort around certain family members, friends, or work colleagues
  • Preferring to spend time alone in introspection
  • Struggles with communication, arguments, disagreements.

To combat these symptoms we can:

  • Drink plenty of filtered water
  • Take saltwater baths
  • Meditate and remain aware of reoccurring thoughts and feelings
  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol
  • Spend time in nature
  • Consume high-vibrational foods, such as fruit and vegetables
  • Remind ourselves that everything in the Universe is made up of energy.

To make the most of this eclipse season and the next six months, it’s important to take some time to reflect on our values and desires, the company we keep, and any relationships we need to let go of. This eclipse will give us the courage to make the life-changing decisions we have been shying away from, so we can burn broken bridges and open new doors without regret—although be wary, as during the eclipse we may be more emotional and ungrounded than normal, so it is worth allowing a few days for the energies to settle before taking any action.
